Water is flowing in the streams in the north of Israel in amounts not seen in several years. Streams are full to overflowing and the Kinneret is rising fairly fast.

The Kineret is filled by rainwater that falls in its catchment basin. It flows through dozens of streams and creeks many of which are dry through most of the year.

Israel has a Mediterranean climate that gets pretty fair overall rainfal but it is concentrated in the winter months. Mainly from December to early March, over 200 inches of rain fall in Jerusael.

However in recent years Israel has built several desalination plants, that now provide most of the drinking water to the residents of Israel.
