Rain and Kinneret Watch

Our weekly report of the rain and the level of the Kineret - 5778.

As of January 11 (24 Teves) 167 millimeters of rain had fallen in the Jerusalem area during the current season (August 1 to date). This represents 77% of the average rainfall for this period and 31% of the average rainfall for the entire season in the Jerusalem area which is 537 mm.

It has a pretty dry season all over Israel so far. Last weekend and early this week there was significant rainfall. Special prayers are being said. The situation is similar throughout the country.

The current level of the Kinneret is -214.26 meters below sea level, which is below the lower red line of -213 meters. It went up about 2 inches in the last week.
