100 Story Tower Approved for Tel Aviv

A Tel Aviv planning commission approved a plan to a tower of 100 stories and a total of over 1.6 million square feet. Its final use has not yet been decided, but it is expected to include a hotel and residential floors. It would be the tallest building in Israel. Currently the tallest building in Israel is the nearby Moshe Aviv (City Gate) tower that has 68 floors.

It is to be built an 11 dunam (almost 4 acre) parcel of land owned by the municipality of Tel Aviv. It is located near the Diamond Center, where the cities of Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Givatayim come together. It was originally planned to be 75 stories, but the city engineer recommended that it be increased to 100 stories.

It is part of a larger planning district that includes more than 100 acres of publicly owned land in the area.
