Internet Devices are Sinners and Cause Others to Sin

HaRav Meir Tzvi Bergman, Rosh Yeshivas Rashbi and member of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah, wrote:

I hereby join the call of gedolei Yisrael regarding the contaminated devices which the Torah warned against, namely, "You shall not follow after your [desires of] heart," neither to purchase or receive such equipment, and subsequently, not to follow "after your eyes" in viewing or using said devices.

It is imperative to promote and aid the signing of kollel members upon the public resolution forms undertaking not to use or view anything through these polluted devices of any kind which are sins and cause others to sin.

In response to the call of Torah leadership, in their letter which focused on the holy obligation calling upon every one to join the communal resolution against technological hazards, forms to be signed of "Communal Resolution" will be circulated widely amongst many of the kollelim throughout the country.

Such a communal resolution is a powerful tool in guarding the community in general and over each individual from the dangers threatening us at our very doorsteps from the technological devices and the Internet.

Torah leaders, who are constantly privy to severe cases of spiritual tragedies caused by the Internet, regard it as of utmost importance to accept a communal pledge which will complement surveillance over people and their families and prevent any access to those forbidden devices. The prevalent danger threatening us from all sides has caused out gedolim to make additional safeguards to protect against this hazard.

It is especially important that the kollelim which have bodies of members dedicated to grow in Torah should sign this resolution since their clout is significantly more potent with regard to the rest of the public.
