Missionary Conference in Jerusalem's Arena

By Yechiel Sever

Exposed: A huge Christian rally headed by the Empowered21 movement from all over the world is scheduled to take place in the huge Arena stadium belonging to the Jerusalem municipality, also involving mass Shabbos and Yom Tov desecration. Claiming to be the fastest growing segment of Christianity, the Spirit-empowered movement aims to expand Christian activities in Jerusalem in particular, and in Israel as a whole. Many of the leaders come from evangelical and missionary segments of Christianity.

Their meeting is scheduled to stretch over several days and will host missionaries worldwide, including panels, discussions and meetings to be held on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Events will also take place in Beit Lechem and along the Jordan River.

In reaction to this planned event taking place in the heart of the Holy City, Rabbi Eliezer Rauchberger, chairman of the Torah Jewry faction in the municipality, informed Yated Ne'eman that: "Such a mass missionary event is disgraceful and outrageous, all the more so since it is scheduled to take place in a municipal hall. Nothing can justify permission, aid and abetment to religious conversion. Jews throughout the ages have laid down their lives for Kiddush Hashem and refused to convert. It is terribly shocking to see such a rally taking place in Jerusalem, of all sites, which can, ch"v, lead to Jews denouncing their faith. Woe unto us to have reached such a state."
