The Remarks of HaRav Shteinman at the Emergency Meeting

By Yechiel Sever

"The goal and purpose of the Holy Torah is not to sit in the bookcase, but it must be toiled over and it is a living Torah. We have no life without the Torah! It's life not only for Torah scholars, but life for all of the Jewish people.

"The optimal time to study is when you're young. When is someone going to start learning — when he's 70? The best time to study Torah is as a young man, at the height of one's strength and the height of one's potential. This is the most appropriate time and this is the time when young men study Torah. In each and every generation attempts have been made to do away with the Torah, and just as we got through everything boruch Hashem, this time as well HaKadosh Boruch Hu will help and get us through this, and it will be possible to continue learning Torah."
