Ministry of Religious Services Establishes Permanent Post to
Prevent Grave Desecration

A permanent position was established at the Ministry of Religious
Services to oversee the prevention of grave desecration, according to
an agreement reached between Knesset Finance Ministry Chairman MK
Rabbi Moshe Gafni and Finance Ministry officials.
HaRav Gafni reported the development to representatives of the Society
for the Prevention of Grave Desecration, Rabbi Eliezer Yutovsky and
Rabbi Eyal Porat, who met with him to discuss difficulties in securing
funding for the new position.
In a letter Rabbi Gafni sent to the heads of the Society for the
Prevention of Grave Desecration he noted that "this approval will
prevent be'eizer Hashem the recent difficulties you are already
aware of and which I, too, have been aware of regarding the proper
oversight of the prevention of grave desecration."
