With great heavenly mercy, there has been a considerable improvement in the condition of Maran HaRav Elyashiv to the point that this past Shabbos, he was able to daven in the Shaare Zedek hospital shul. With the culmination of Shabbos, the good news spread rapidly throughout the world, whereupon public prayers were intensified for his complete recovery.
In the light of a severe infection that he had contracted lately, the news was all the more heartening. Maran's appearance in the hospital synagogue was hailed with effusive excitement by the worshippers and the medical staff, with a consensus that mass prayers around the clock had truly been instrumental and effective.
By the end of the Shabbos morning service, a huge crowd had gathered to receive the blessings of Maran who, despite his weakness, blessed them personally, including the doctors, many of them far removed from Jewish practice. They, too, expressed their amazement at his marked improvement.
