Rosh Yeshivos at Jaffa Grave Desecration Demonstrations

Hundreds of avreichim from around the country gathered Sunday afternoon near the excavation site at the ancient Jewish cemetery in Jaffa to pray and protest against the shameful, unfeeling grave desecration taking place, despite firm demands by Torah-true Jewry and a piercing letter by gedolei Yisroel shlita calling for an immediate halt to construction work.
Among the roshei yeshivos on hand were HaRav Yitzchok Ezrachi, one of the roshei yeshivos of Yeshivas Mir, HaRav Shmuel Yaakov Bernstein, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Kiryas Melech, HaRav Chaim Feinstein, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Beis Yehuda, and HaRav Dovid Shapira, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Beer Yaakov. Rav Moshe Eliashiv was also on hand, representing his father, HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv shlita.
The rabbonim stood on a balcony overlooking the site, where they voiced their anguish over the incessant destruction taking place before their eyes and asked the niftarim for forgiveness.
