Mifal HaShas Presidential Board Holds Annual Meeting

by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Prominent roshei yeshivos and gedolei Torah were on hand last week in Bnei Brak for the annual gathering of Mifal HaShas Haolami, extending encouragement for the thousands of ameilei Torah taking part in the noble program.

In his opening remarks, HaRav Tzvi Rotberg, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Beis Meir, offered praise and thanks for the great privilege of hosting the members of the Mifal HaShas Presidential Board at his yeshiva, as they gathered to honor the Torah and Torah scholars. Speaking in the names of all of the gedolei Torah he expressed appreciation towards all those who help manage the program and blessed them for continued success.

The rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Sanz, HaRav Schmerler, who headed the gathering as he does every year, began by recalling the memory of HaRav Boruch Shimon Salomon, the late rov of Petach Tikva and rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Nachalas Dovid, who served as a member of the Mifal HaShas Presidential Board from its founding until passing away unexpectedly a few months ago.

During the course of the gathering, detailed reports on the past year's achievements were presented and an in-depth discussion of the material, review schedule and testing schedule for 5770 was held. The following decisions were reached: The 30 Daf Per Month program would continue learning Maseches Avodoh Zorah, followed by Zevochim, Horayos and Menochos. The 20 Daf Per Month program would continue learning Maseches Zevochim, followed by Menochos and Chulin.

In the Horo'oh-Shas Uposkim program, those taking part in the Choshen Mishpat track would continue learning hilchos To'en Venit'an and hilchos Geviyas Malveh based on the Tur-Shulchan Aruch, while participants in the Orach Chaim track would continue Siman 137 through 215.
