Gedolei Yisroel Set Up Committee to Rectify Stumbling Blocks at Hotels

By Yechiel Sever

Gedolei Yisroel are calling on kashrus organizations providing mehadrin arrangements at hotel and other vacation spots that accommodate the chareidi public to obtain the approval of the Vaad Leshmiroh Al Tziviyon Ha'am Hayehudi, which the rabbonim have set up to uphold standards of sanctity and modesty.

With the extensive development of the vacation industry in recent years, many establishments declare they have special arrangements in place to accommodate the chareidi public, yet the truth falls far short of their claims. Many respectable chareidi families assume high kashrus standards will ensure the general environment at the hotel will be upstanding as well, yet during their stay they discover numerous spiritual stumbling blocks.

To remedy the situation gedolei Yisroel are now urging kashrus organizations to take steps to ensure the suitability of the hotel extends beyond the food served.
