Degel HaTorah Board Set Up in Herzliyah

By A. Cohen

Degel HaTorah held an executive meeting in Herzliyah following a decision by the national board to set up new boards and renew boards in places that already have them. The execution of the decision began last month when a number of local board meetings were held. Two weeks ago a local board meeting was also held in Afula and a new board was selected.

Last week was Herzliyah's turn and indeed a meeting was held in the home of Degel HaTorah City Councilman Rabbi Moshe Garshi in the Neveh Amal neighborhood. Together with other local activists, Rabbi Garshi presented an overview of activities being carried out in the city, noting the solid left-wing majority on the city council and the disturbing chilul Shabbos that takes place in the city. On the other hand participants said many children are joining the city's Agudas Yisroel kindergartens and Chinuch Atzmai schools.

"We intend to reach every community in Eretz Yisroel," said MK Rabbi Avrohom Ravitz. "We must increase our efforts to strengthen Judaism and the religious public, creating a warm haven for all those who want to partake of the light of Torah." He also noted Degel HaTorah is not just a political party, but also a Torah enterprise.
