New Law to Limit Volume at Simchas

The Knesset plenum passed in second and third readings on
Monday an amendment to the Business Licensing Law that will
require event halls and event grounds to install volume
control devices to limit noise levels.
MK Aryeh Eldad (HaIchud HaLeumi), who proposed the law, said
at event halls today music is played at extremely high volume
that can expose guests to serious hearing damage. This
applies to youths in particular, who are harmed by high
volume and often leave with ringing sounds in their ears.
The law is intended to protect people's hearing and to
introduce norms for music played at event halls. It also
