New Israeli Patent: Electronic Valve Deflates Tires in Event of Theft

By S. Fried

A patent was recently registered in Israel for a revolutionary device that could reduce car thefts: an electronic valve that lets the air out of the tires in the event of an attempted car theft.

Invented by two brothers, the smart valve is connected to a system that identifies unauthorized drivers. By deflating the tires the system leaves the would-be thief with no choice other than to abandon the car or call for a tow truck.

The device also has a safety feature that makes deflation impossible while the car is in motion. Registered internationally, the new idea is already drawing wide interest.
