Baby Suffocated by Plastic Bag in Bnei Brak

By A. Cohen

A six-month-old baby suffocated to death when a plastic bag covered its face.

The tragic incident took place on Rechov HaRav Povarsky in Bnei Brak when a daycare-center worker noticed a plastic bag was covering the head of one of the babies. She removed the bag but saw the baby had lost consciousness.

A team from Hatzoloh of Gush Dan tried to perform CPR while evacuating the baby in a mobile intensive care unit, but the physicians at Mayanei Hayeshua pronounced the baby dead on arrival.

A police pathologist conducted an external examination of the body and then released it for burial.
