Mesillah Financial Self-Help Women's Auxiliary Founded

by A. Cohen

The founding conference for the women's auxiliary of Mesillah - Providing the Path to Financial Stability, was held at the Vishnitz Hotel in Bnei Brak on 27 Av.

Neshei Mesillah was initiated by rebbetzins and teachers at chareidi schools who learned about Mesillah, which was set up with the encouragement of gedolei Yisroel in order to bring proper money management practices to the chareidi public and to extract families mired in financial hardship.

Neshei Mesillah activities will operate in tandem with Mesillah, sending volunteer women to work with families being assisted by Mesillah, encouraging housewives to implement guidelines for careful management of the household economy, conducting wise money managing workshops for chareidi women and providing support for the wives of the organization's representatives.

Neshei Mesillah forms another building block in the development of Mesillah, which expanded its activity over the past year by opening new branches in chareidi population centers, arranging various workshops and providing help, counselling and guidance to hundreds of families from across the chareidi spectrum.

Mesillah officials say the Neshei Mesillah project is taking shape thanks to the tremendous awakening throughout the public regarding the need for prudent money management and the increasing awareness of the importance of preparing a family budget and adhering to it.

At the founding conference a presentation on the organization's activities was screened and a lecture on ways to enlist the entire family in economic rehabilitation by given by Dr. Boruch Shulam. Mrs. T. Shapira presented the plans for Neshei Mesillah activities.
