Annual Toldos Yeshurun Conference Held
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Gedolei hador, roshei yeshivos and hundreds of Russian- speaking avreichim and talmidim gathered on the fourth night of Chanukah for the annual Toldos Yeshurun conference. Hundreds of activists and avreichim, along with over a thousand talmidim, participated in the event.

Speakers included HaRav Aharon Leib Steinman, HaRav Moshe Shapira, HaRav C. Sarna, HaRav Y. Gans and HaRav A. Abba Shaul. Speaking in the name of HaRav Yosef Sholom Eliashiv, HaRav Yosef Efrati said, "I hereby bless them that they may go meichayil el chayil." The centerpiece of the conference was HaRav Yitzchok Zilber's new book of memoirs, Lehisha'er Yehudi, which came off the press in Russian just last week.

Toldos Yeshurun is an umbrella organization for Torah-true kehillos of immigrants from the former Soviet Union throughout Eretz Yisroel. The largest organization of its kind, Toldos Yeshurun was founded by HaRav Zilber, the father of the teshuvoh movement among Russian speakers. Every day Toldos Yeshurun dispatches some 300 avreichim to over 1,200 immigrants. The organization also sponsors hundreds of shiurei Torah and chavrusas across the country, as well as assisting with bar mitzvah, bris and chupoh preparations.
