1,000 People Learning at the Ovos Ubonim Program in England
by Yated Ne'eman Staff

Motzei Shabbos Noach saw the start of the winter Ovos Ubonim program in England. In Golders Green there are 5 centers: GGBH, Goschalk's, Dayan Ehrentreu's, Eitz Chaim and Kehal Chassidim. In Manchester there are 4 centers: Stein Court, Machzikei Hadass, Sha'arei Tefilla-Prestwich and Zichron Yechezkel. All told there is a total of well over 400 children learning with their fathers. There are also centers in Edgware and Gateshead.

There are now 400 centers in Israel, over 100 in North America, new ones in Argentina and Mexico -- and even Hong Kong started last week. Worldwide it is estimated that well over 30,000 children learn every week -- and there are plans to double this over the next months!

Each center follows the same pattern whereby the young boys learn with their father/grandfather for an hour. After the learning, each child participates in a raffle for book vouchers, is eligible for special prizes and receives some nash.

As an international program, Ovos Ubonim has no boundaries. It brings together children from the broadest spectrum -- Sephardic, Ashkenazic, Mizrachi, Litvish, and Chassidish.

For more information, sponsorship details, or if you would like to open a center in your area, please call: 972 2 652 6151 in Israel, or Michael Hommel on +44 208-922 0263 in England.
