Thirteen Murdered in One Awful Day
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Sunday there was a wave of terrorist attacks from north to
south. Israel responded by tightening its closure in Jenin,
Nablus, Tulkarm, Kalkilia and Ramallah. However it will
continue its easing of the curfew in Bethlehem and Hebron,
which have recently been quiet.
Lithuania to Release 52 More Sifrei Torah
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Fifty-two more sifrei Torah and megilos will
soon be handed over to the Jewish people by Lithuania,
following the transfer of 309 previously undiscovered
sifrei Torah scrolls that took place in January,
according to Rabbi Abba Dunner, secretary- general of the
Conference of European Rabbis.
U.S. Aguda National Leadership Mission To Washington Comes
at Opportune Moment
by B. Issaac
Front-page headlines in practically every major American
newspaper about criticism of Israel's missile attack on a
building housing a Hamas leader, accompanied by graphic
photographs of unintended civilian casualties of the attack,
formed the unanticipated but poignant background for a two-
hour session on "The Media and the Middle East" in Washington
this past week.
Suicide Terrorists Deterred by Concern over Family
by Yated Ne'eman Staff
Over the past two weeks, two terrorists who had prepared to
carry out suicide attacks were arrested by the Israel
security apparatus after having reconsidered their original
intention due to concern that that their families' houses
would be demolished as a result.
OPINION &
COMMENT
Cynical Criminal Palestinian Activity
Israel is caught between conflicting needs and goals in its
attitude to the Palestinian people. This is true of both the
political decision-makers and the security experts.
